St. Patty’s Day, The Announcement of our first PM19 Keynote Speakers, Industry/Community Updates and the IWD Community Member Spotlight!
Top of the Morning PM Family,
At Podcast Movement we always look for reasons to celebrate, and one of our favorite holidays is St. Pod-tricks Day!
St. Patrick’s day takes place in the United States on Sunday, March 17, but we don’t plan on waiting that long, or waiting to find a four leaf clover, to get lucky.
We share our Pod of Gold in this week’s newsletter with a rainbow of announcements, including our first keynote speakers for PM19, we kiss the blarney stone with industry/community updates, and finish off by raising a belated celebration toast for International Women’s Day (which took place late last week) by shining the spotlight on several amazing women in the PM Family!
Are you ready to get jig-gy with it? Let the bagpipes play, and let’s get this green edition of the newsletter started!
Our First Announcement on Keynote Speakers for PM19
PM is proud to have Earlonne Woods, and Nigel Poor from the hit podcast Ear Hustle take the stage this year, and we’re honored to announce them as our first keynote speakers! You may recall hearing the podcast while Earlonne was incarcerated at California’s San Quentin Prison, and you likely also saw the news recently that he was commuted from his sentence last fall. Earlonne is now a free man, and we’re honored to feature him along with Nigel this summer.
The first three seasons of the podcast mainly focused on the stories behind the prison walls, with Earlonne being the voice on the inside, and Nigel being the voice of the listener on the outside. It is exciting to see what the next season of the show will entail now that Earlonne is free!
As if this story was not already impressive enough (which it is on its own), we inside Podcast Movement are extra excited because the Ear Hustle team being featured at PM19 brings things full circle for the show.
In 2016, we teamed with Radiotopia to introduce the four finalists for their first ever Podquest Competition, and Ear Hustle was one of the finalists featured at Podcast Movement 2016 in Chicago, IL.
They won that competition to join the Radiotopia network, and the rest is history! It is serendipitous to have Earlonne and Nigel share the keynote stage at PM19, since this show and story played such a big part of PM16 (except this time Earlonne won’t have to join via video)!
We’re excited and honored to feature Ear Hustle as keynote speakers, and thank PRX and Radiotopia for their long time partnership that helped make this story a reality!
