Sure, “Nielsen data shows podcast advertising delivers 4.4x better brand recall than display ads on other digital media platforms.” It’s targeted, flexible, and drives preference, but not considered a safe bet by many an uninitiated marketer.

Isaksson’s collection of data points can help develop an ‘elevator speech,’ if need be, on the worthiness of host-read ads to those on the fence.


“Wrapped” for Podcasters: Spotify's Creator Dashboard for Worldwide Analytics

“‘Wrapped’ has become one of Spotify’s major awaited releases among those who use the service frequently, as it enables users to explore their top songs, top artists, top genres and times heard for the year,” writes Aditi Gade for ITMunch. “New this year is an extension of ‘Wrapped’ to podcasters.”

“Previously, Spotify artists had their version […] which enabled them to discover how their music reached fans across the world, accessible through the Spotify for Artists dashboard. This year, podcasters will receive their personal ‘Wrapped,’ available through Spotify for Podcasters.”

  • Canada calling: The CBC conferred with creators and experts to determine the year’s most inspiring podcasts. Shows from Wondery, Crimetown Presents, BBC Radio, and more have been named ‘guilty pleasures’ and ‘hidden gems.’
  • Youth group: PRX has announced an network of original podcasts for listeners ages 9–13. Set for 2020 release, TRAX will feature “free, on-demand audio content that is enriching, entertaining, and diverse in genre, format, style, and voice.”
