Episode 97: Events and Early Registration

Cyber Monday Sale: PM Ticket Prices Increase

This season of giving we’re offering a longer-than-usual period before event registrations go up. This Cyber Monday is the last day of lowest cost to secure both Evolutions in LA this February and PM 20 in Dallas this August. Ticket prices will increase tonight.

This year is special for PM — we’re putting on two conferences for the first time ever. Whether you’re a podcasting beginner, an industry veteran, or simply interested in the powerful growth of audio, we have the right event for you. Read about both and join us in making history. We can’t wait to see you!

PM's Weekly Community Recap: LA Speakers and a Jump-Start

This week’s PM community update brings good tidings — the first round of speakers for Podcast Movement Evolutions. Aaron Mahnke, Amanda McLoughlin, and many others will present expert sessions this February at the Millennium Biltmore in Los Angeles.

Give yourself or a friend the gift of support with the next 28-Day Launch challenge. We’re proud to partner with Acast for this next free session beginning January 1. Register through December to get your podcast from zero to ready-to-go.

LA's Millennium Biltmore Hotel: The Home of PM Evolutions

The iconic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles will be the location of Evolutions in just a few months. We’re excited to share this sophisticated, timeless setting with all who come to visit.

Since its grand opening in 1923, the hotel’s Beaux-Arts architecture has attracted landmark events. John F. Kennedy delivered his acceptance speech as the nominee of the the 1960 Democratic National Convention, with his campaign headquarters set up in the Music Room, now the Lobby.

Seen in cinema from Chinatown to Ghostbusters and on the small screen in shows like Mad Men, the Biltmore is a film-lover’s dream. It was even the founding place and early home to the Academy Awards ceremonies.

The hotel’s rich history and intricate design will be on full display February 12 – 15, 2020. We’ve secured special rates, so be sure to book your room before space sells out.

Meet Your PM20 Headquarters: Dallas' Hilton Anatole

Are you a fan of art? The Hilton Anatole in Dallas, home of Podcast Movement 2020, is filled to the top with it — literally. Over 1,000 objects, including many pieces from the Crow Collection of Asian Art and two painted sections of the Berlin Wall, are located throughout the resort.

In the central atrium, the colossal Nebula hangs 50 feet in the air. Built in 2010, the kinetic sculpture is made of aircraft cable, pulleys, and amber crystal. Historic and modern structures nearer eye level are on display along the Anatole’s one-mile art walk.

Anatole booking is now open for August, so be sure to book your stay with our special rates while available.

Happy Monday, readers, and welcome back to post-Thanksgiving life. We’d like to give a tremendous thank you to Ted Woods and Storyblocks for creating the latest season of Podcast Movement Sessions.

This season puts a documentary-style spin on the Society, Culture, and Advocacy track of PM19 in Orlando, featuring some of the biggest names in the True Crime genre. Give it a listen to show Ted and Storyblocks some love.

Cheers,
Team PM

It is euch a happiness when good people get tohether – and they always do.

Here's what else is going on:

  • Hot take: Attending a podcast conference will provide you with tons of networking opportunities, but the overwhelm is real. Ma’ayan Plaut’s excellent event guide will grow your confidence, make your interactions memorable, and keep you cool and collected.
  • Year round: Meeting others working in your genre, at your experience level, makes building a podcast so much better. Danielle Desir of WOC Podcasters provides a list with commentary on podcasting conferences, summits, and events happening in 2020 and beyond.
  • Get social: Keep listeners up to date and share your links with others at podcast meetups, conferences, and events. Elena Fernández Collins shares tips and tricks for picking platforms that work best for your show and marketing effectively on social media.
  • Chit chat: A conference is a place to “discuss thoughts, network, share ideas, create new ideas, and to ignite motivation.” Eliza Kennedy’s article on the event advantage highlights how to take advantage of opportunities for continuous improvement and renewal.
