Our Story
Podcast Movement began in 2014, when four podcasters and entrepreneurs had an idea. With a Kickstarter campaign and a positive attitude, they set out to create a vibrant event “for podcasters, by podcasters.” In the years since, PM has grown with the community's support to become the ultimate twice-per-year destination for podcasters and podcast industry professiionals from around the world. Featuring diverse speakers, education, networking, and groovy parties, every Podcast Movement event is seen as a "can't miss" event for those in and around podcasting.
Our Mission
Simply put, for the past 9 years, the goal of Podcast Movement has been to bring together and educate active and aspiring podcasters, and to grow the podcast community and industry as a whole. Eache event, we do this through over 150 educational and informative breakout sessions and panels spread across several tracks, enlightening and encouraging keynote presentations, and fun networking events and parties. With over 15,000 podcasters joining us over the last nine years from over 35 different countries (and growing), we are excited to continue the mission of Podcast Movement!

Dan Franks
President & Co-Founder
Dan Franks is one of the co-founders, and currently the President, of Podcast Movement. Dan works with an amazing team at Podcast Movement, and oversees all aspects of the company, including events, sales, content, and community.
Prior to going full-time with Podcast Movement, Dan was a practicing CPA, specializing in tax and financial planning for small business owners and entrepreneurs, helping them get their financial systems in order (and thriving).
This passion for working in financial systems crossed paths with his love for podcasting, which lead him out of the public sector and into the private one, when in 2015 he became the Business Manager for the podcasting company Midroll / Stitcher. There, he worked alongside the CFO, helping with all aspects of the business side of the company.
As all of this was going on, he also helped launch Podcast Movement (the world's largest conference and trade show for the podcast industry) in 2014. Since that time, PM has grown considerably, and in 2018 running Podcast Movement became his full-time focus.
While running large-scale conferences and trade shows can sometimes get wild, Dan is prepared for anything, as he also moonlit as a professional wrestler during college! While he still is a fan of the sport, he's now permanently hung up the spandex in exchange for headphones and a microphone, and in his free time enjoys his time at home in Dallas, TX with his wife and two daughters.

- Selling more tickets and sponsorships, while keeping everyone happy
