Podcast Marketing: Capturing Organic Leads on FB

How would you feel if you woke up tomorrow with thousands more dollars sitting in your bank account? Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and picture the cash. It feels good, right?

Well my PM friends, it is possible to get there. Today, I’m going to talk about the power of automation and how you can leverage Facebook to capture organic leads on autopilot.

The goal of automation is to amplify your reach with your personal mantra or message, without trading hours for dollars. When you learn and implement this deceptively simple and clever technique, you’re going to wish you’d started earlier.

I call this the Double-O Method: Organic-Optimize Method.

Time Needed to Implement this Strategy: 60 Minutes

What You Will Need:

  • Facebook Profile
  • Podcast Episode
  • Canva, a free graphic design platform
  • Bonus: Lead Magnet

Question 1: Have you ever been active in a Facebook group, or just scrolling on the site, when a comment or a post captures your attention?

Of course, so what is your next move? Most of us decide to view the poster’s profile page. As humans, we are naturally curious, so we check them out – drumroll please – that’s the key to capturing organic leads.

When people check out your profile picture, what do they see? Do they see something intriguing, inviting them to learn more about you, or something dull and unremarkable?

Question 2: When was the last time you changed your profile picture? Did you know that when you update it, your entire network is notified? Sure enough, it creates an automatic push notification to your contacts. It’s time to realize how valuable that is.

Say you’ve just finished your latest podcast interview. Now you’re thinking about ways to promote it so you can serve people with your message. A simple and easy way to do that is to use Canva to create a new Facebook cover photo that calls attention to the episode.

When you update your cover photo, add a teaser telling people to download a freebie so they can get on your mailing list. Use this technique every time you have a new episode coming out. That way you’ll always remain at the top of your community’s mind.

When you start to engage in Facebook groups, other members will naturally be curious about you as well. If you’ve optimized your profile, when they check it out they’ll be encouraged to join your email list and listen to your latest episode.

People are looking at your profile whenever you:

  • Like someone’s page
  • When you post on your page
  • When you share something
  • Link to it from another social media platform

Everyone that checks out your page is a potential listener and customer. If you’re not optimizing your profile, you are missing out on automatic organic growth. How can you leverage its full potential? Going the extra mile in the following five places on your profile will turn it into a Powerful Lead Automated Machine.

Step 1: Cover Photo

Whenever you drive down the highway, you see billboards. These billboards only have a few seconds to capture your attention. Your cover photo is your personal billboard. Use it! Canva is an easy, free way to get creative.

Step 2: Profile Picture

Upload a new Profile Picture that captures your professional best. People click on this key photo more often than you may think. When they see it, they’ll instantly have info about you and your podcast.

Step 3: Intro Section

The Intro Section underneath needs to succinctly tell what you do and who you serve. If you want people to stay and learn more, it has to spark their interest and appeal to them.

Step 4: Bio Link

Bio Link needs to go directly underneath your bio with a link to your podcast, website, or freebie. Many podcasters overlook this opportunity and never put a link there. Don’t miss out.

Step 5: Featured Photo

Featured Photo – This is prime real estate. Showcase your latest episode or a graphic that will pull people in. This is the best Facebook secret weapon out there. Rarely do people take advantage of it. Be different and implement this one today.

When you optimize your profile in these five ways, your Facebook presence becomes a mini secret sales agent — on autopilot — that captures new interest without direct advertising.

Now when you engage on social media, casual visitors will join your mini sales funnel day and night.

Voila… there you have it.

Now, think back to the question I asked you at the outset. What if you woke up tomorrow and saw thousands of dollars sitting in your bank account because you spent 60 minutes implementing these strategies?

That would feel good, right? Now go out and get it!
