PM22 Scholarship Application NOW OPEN… and a new keynote announcement

This is a weekly newsletter for Podcast Movement event and community updates. For more industry-focused daily news, subscribe to the PodMov Daily here.

Greetings!

We've got a packed newsletter this week, with information on the PM22 Scholarship Program, a new keynote, and the second round of speakers and sessions.

We also have an exciting project coming up, and your voice is key. Consider this: If you could ask thousands of podcast listeners, what would you want to know?

Let's dive into what's new.

PM EVENT NEWS

PM22 Scholarship Applications are now OPEN!

Podcast Movement was created in 2014 so that the entire community could gather each year in a place to call their own. Of course, many new and/or aspiring podcasters want to join us, but not all are in a financial position to make it happen.

Every year, we try our best to help those who are willing, able, and serious about attending Podcast Movement by working with them to make the event financially accessible. We will always attempt to do for some, what we wish we could do for everyone.

What is the scholarship and what does it include?
It's important to note that this scholarship only applies to a Standard Plus Pass or Virtual Ticket for PM22 this August 23-26. The Standard Plus Pass does not include hotel or airfare, and the ticket is not transferable.

Who is eligible?
As a brand new or yet-to-launch podcaster who LOVES podcasting, you may be eligible for our scholarship. Having an active track record of being part of the Podcast Movement Facebook Community or one of our Meetup Groups helps!

Who is not eligible?
The scholarships are reserved for those who have never before attended a Podcast Movement event, have not yet signed up for PM22, and are not in a position to attend the conference without financial assistance.

How can I apply?
Learn more and submit your application by Friday, July 1 at midnight. We will announce the recipients in our weekly newsletter on July 6, as well as in our Facebook group.

Edison Research Returns to the Keynote Stage

Edison Research has delivered essential listening insights at Podcast Movement from the very beginning. From the first estimate of how many people listen to podcasts, to a ranker of the most listened-to shows, Edison's resources and key findings continue to help podcasting grow.

Gabriel Soto, Senior Director of Research, will continue that trend by presenting the opportunities that Edison Research sees for podcasters in 2022. Data-driven and diversity-focused, these insights will provide an overview of what may be on podcasting's horizon.

Soto will also share never-before-seen data from many Edison Research studies, including The Infinite DialThe Black Podcast Listener ReportThe Latino Listener Report, and Edison Podcast Metrics (formerly known as the Podcast Consumer Tracking Report).

If you could ask thousands of podcast listeners, what would you want to know?

Now's your chance!

We’re working with a marketing and research team to conduct a national study of podcast listeners. First, we need to know what’s important to YOU – the podcast creators. In just a few questions, please share your input on the topics and issues that matter most.

With this short survey, your answers will be the key to stronger insights. Stay tuned: All-new findings will be presented at PM22 on August 25.
